
Senior Year Event Descriptions
Senior Sunrise
During the fall all seniors are invited to dress comfy and bring their blankets to enjoy the sunrise with their fellow classmates. Seniors, report to the softball field at the appointed time. Donuts will be provided. This is a student only event.
Senior Class Panoramic Photo
During the spring semester all seniors are invited to join the panoramic class photo in the gymnasium. Details about purchasing the traditional or silly photo (or both) will be communicated.
Junior & Senior Banquet
The CMHS Junior Class will host our annual Junior & Senior Banquet in the spring. This event is organized as a parting ceremony to honor the graduating seniors. Dress for this event is semi-formal. Students will be informed of ticket prices and times closer to the date. This is an event for students only.
During the Senior Banquet a slideshow of memories will be presented to the graduating class. If you are the parent of a senior and want to contribute photos for this slideshow, please use the 2025 Senior Send-Off/Banquet Form. All submissions are due by 11:59 pm on Sunday, April 13, 2025.
Prom
Prom for the Class of 2024 will be held from 9 pm - 12 am at The Broadmoor Colorado Hall. Both juniors and seniors are invited to attend. Tickets are $55 per student.
After Prom
After Prom provides an alternative location for students to go after the prom event ends. After Prom is held at the school in the two gyms and is organized, set up, and hosted by the PTO. Each year's After Prom has a unique theme. Students do not have to attend Prom in order to go to After Prom.
Senior Yard Signs
Generic (not personalized) one-sided yard signs with metal stakes are available for order through out CMHS PTO.
Graduation Speeches
Two seniors will be selected by a team of staff members to speak at graduation. Students may sign-up for a tryout time on Ms. Littleton's door in May.
Academic Awards Ceremony - By Invitation Only
This is an evening ceremony held in the Lloyd Shaw Auditorium to honor exemplary student achievements throughout all departments. Content area awards and honor graduate status are recognized.
End -of-Year Picnic (Last Day for Seniors)
Seniors complete their check-out sheet during the morning. Once the form is accepted, the senior will receive their cap & gown, if ordered. The cafeteria will host a senior farewell lunch with complimentary food provided to all seniors. Games, dessert, and yearbook distribution make the afternoon a fun way to spend one last day with all CMHS students.
Capping Ceremony
The mortarboard is a mark of both significant academic achievement and of a lifelong commitment to the love of learning. Held in the Cheyenne Mountain High School Lloyd Shaw Auditorium, the Capping Ceremony is an intimate evening ceremony between the candidate for graduation and a special person chosen by the candidate to place the mortarboard upon his/her head. This is an inspiring ceremony with light entertainment, succinct motivational speeches, and memorable picture opportunities. A small reception of desserts and beverages are served après ceremony. This event is limited in space - an RSVP will be required.
Athletic Awards Night - By Invitation Only
Outstanding athletic accomplishments will be recognized during this evening event. Invitations will be sent and an RSVP is required.
Graduation Rehearsal
Seniors planning on attending graduation must attend this morning rehearsal to learn the walking patterns and to select their walking partner. Behavior, wardrobe, and timing will be discussed. The rehearsal is followed by a breakfast hosted by the CMHS PTO.
Graduation
Graduation is held at the Broadmoor World Arena as the culminating event for the graduating class. This event is unticketed and seating is available first come, first served. The venue opens 1 hour prior to the ceremony. Event and facility guidelines and expectations will be emailed to parents closer to the date.
