AP Testing Information

May 2 - May 13 - Regular Testing window

May 17 - May 20 - Late Testing window

  • All AP Tests will be held at CMHS.
  • Room assignments will be posted the day of testing on the window of the College & Career counselor.
  • Students will be excused from classes during the duration of the test but must report to class after completion. 
  • Lunch will be provided in the cafeteria until 2:30 during the regular testing window for students not leaving campus for lunch.

College Workshop for the Parents/Guardians & Students of the Class of 2023! 

On February 16th, Mrs. Kutsner and Mrs. Hinckley hosted a workshop for the parents, guardians, and students about college and all it entails here at CMHS at 6:00 PM in the Kiva.

This presentation will include topics such as:

  • The college research process
  • Using Cialfo
  • The application process
  • A brief overview of financial aid
  • Supporting your student
  • How to use our website

AP & CU Succeed Information

The CU Succeed program is a joint venture between Colorado high schools and the University of Colorado. The program allows students an opportunity to gain exposure to the college experience by taking college-level courses at their high school. Students enroll in the University of Colorado courses, located at their high school, taught by qualified teachers, at a reduced rate.

  • All CU Succeed courses at CMHS are approved by Course, not by instructor!

Advanced Placement courses are courses offered by the College Board. These courses have a set curriculum and offer a test at the end of every year in which students are graded on a 1 - 5 scale. Scores of 3, 4, or 5 can often be used to waive classes at many higher education institutions in the United States and globally.

FAFSA Completion (Help!) Night 2021

On November 9th form 6:00 - 7:30 PM we hosted a FAFSAS Completion Night in the Library. Seniors and their parents/guardians were invited to attend

Applying for financial aid early is the best way to be considered for funds to pay for your cost of education. We are here to help! We hosted a FAFSA Completion event on November 9th from 6:00 - 7:30 PM in the CMHS Library. Financial aid experts from PPCC were in attendance to help families fill out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and answer any questions or address and concerns they had.

YoungLives: Ministry to Teen Moms: College Resources for Teenage and/or  Single Mothers

Committed to My Future/Free Application Days Celebration Event!

 

Who: All Seniors in the Class of 2022 committed to a goal or planning for their future!

 

The "Committed to My Future event was a success as we had over 90 seniors attend and work on submitting their applications to college! Additionally, many  of them signed the banner stating they had a plan and ate pizza to celebrate moving one step closer to their future!

 

What?

On this day seniors could:

 

  • Receive help completing and submitting their college applications to institutions in Colorado for FREE!
  • Sign the “Committed to My Future Banner” 
  • Put their name in a drawing for gift cards and other swag.
  • Take their picture for a “Futures” bulletin board honoring their choices
  • Pose in the photo booth with their friends
  • Receive snacks and treats

Cheyenne Mountain College Services hosted a College Information Night. At this event students and their families had the opportunity to attend sessions. These sessions included: 

  • Public Schools in Colorado: What you need to know to plan nd apply
  • Private Schools in Colorado: What you need to know to plan and apply
  • Applying for Financial Aid and Scholarships
  • Federal Service Academies and ROTC Scholarship Programs
  • Athletics a the College Level and NCAA Eligibility

COLLEGE WORKSHOP FOR THE PARENTS OF THE CLASS OF 2022

We had a great turn out for our virtual College Workshop for the Parents of the Class of 2022 on Wednesday, February 17 at 6:00 pm. Victoria Thompson, College Counselor, and Stan Lambros, Counselor for the Class of 2022, reviewed the college application process and timeline for tasks for the spring of junior year and the upcoming senior year.
