The Cheyenne Mountain High School Athletic Department is excited to announce the appointment of Mr. Jay Saravis as the new head coach of Cheyenne Mountain Football. Mr. Saravis holds a masters degree and is in the process of completing his school leadership coursework. In addition to his extensive educational background Mr. Saravis holds certifications as an NSCA-CSCS and USAW performance coach.

Mr. Saravis comes to us from Massapequa School District in New York where he has been the strength & conditioning coach and health educator since 2002. Coach Saravis most recently served as the defensive coordinator for Massapequa. He brings extensive experience as a successful football and strength and conditioning coach. Jay has also coached lacrosse, softball and track.

I'm excited for the energy, knowledge and passion that Coach Saravis will bring to our program. He is a proponent of multi-sport athletes and has demonstrated the ability to develop a culture of toughness, team work and hard work. As evidenced by several conversations with former players Jay is invested, committed and consistently builds relationships that have lasted well beyond high school with his student-athletes. His contribution in the speed and strength arena will be a tremendous asset to our Football program and entire athletic department.

Details and specifics regarding summer programming are still being completed. Coach Saravis will be moving to Colorado with his family in the near future. We do not anticipate team training activities beginning prior to July 10, 2017. Mr. Saravis and I are working on some potential "bridge" programming in the strength and conditioning realm to serve in the interim. I have full confidence that scheme installation and strength/ agility development in July and August will have us prepared for the 2017 football season.
